Lesson Activities
Throughout this lesson the focus is on 'Units of time'. Understanding the units of time and how to convert each one to another is important and this lesson will help develop this knowledge. The following video clip gives an insight into units of time and converting them: http://splash.abc.net.au/media/-/m/1503960
The first activity for this lesson is a maths game that builds and tests this knowledge through a game where the aim is to match the different time units with their equivalent value. As the game progresses, the questions slowly become increasingly difficult: http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/mathgames/time/TimeConversions.htm The following worksheet is another activity to practice converting units of time. This activity gives the class a chance to convert hours to minutes, minutes to hours and it also gives the class an opportunity to add and subtract minutes using digital time: ![]()
